AS CLOSE AS A BLADE

| I recently purchased the Braun Free Control #1775 electric shaver and I can honestly say that it shaves as close as my old reliable Gillette Sensor razor. I've tried other Braun models costing up to 5 times the price of the Free Control and none of them shaves as close. I think the secret is that is uses just one large cutting block which is heavier and closer cutting than those 2 headed models. Also, the floating foil head is MUCH THINNER than the more expensive Braun models. It floats up and down on your face, and the foil itself is very flexible so it compresses onto the cutter and you barely have to press the shaver to your face. For $35. this shaver out performs $150. models and is an unbelievable value. Don't waste your money on anything more expensive, they don't get any closer than this!!! |
Excellent Shave, especially for those with the "Fred Flintson" effect

| I found this razor to be the best one I have ever used! Having sufferd from the "Fred Flintson Effect"(i.e. perminate 5'0clock shadow) all of my life, I have always found it hard to get a close shave, and would always end up with razor burn and having to shave twice a day. WIth this razor, and a little effort, I get a really close, smooth shave which last the day! The charge is quick and last a long time. It is easy to clean, so you constintly get a better shave. FOR THE PRICE and all around quality, you can't beat this razor! |
Nice Electric Shaver for the $$$

I'm just an average guy who's been using shaving cream and a razor for over 30 years now. Recently I have been using the Fusion razors. Sure, they provide a close shave, but damn, those refills are expensive.
So, I got this Braun. The price was right. The reviews were right.
It does take your skin a couple of weeks to get used to the electric. But it's fast and close.
The charge holds up well. You can charge it then go on vacation for a week and it still shaves.
The side trimmer works well and cuts through any length of hair.
Get this Braun, you won't be sorry. |

| This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Until this remarkable shaver, which I was steered to by other reviewers here in Amazon, I have not been able to get a decent shave with any razor, blade or electric. I am not young, and shaving under my chin--where the wrinkles are emphasized--has been a problem for years. But this relatively inexpensive Braun does it incredibly well, better than the $100 Remington I've had to throw away, and better even than the 3-bladed Gillettes--with motors or not--although they were the best before the Braun. I hope many will buy this great instrument so it will never be taken off the market. I want it to be there if ever I need a new razor again. |
Braun 1775 Free control. Great Razer!!!!!

| I have used Norelco triple head razers and Remington foil and triple head razers. This Braun Free Control blows them away. The Norelco irritated my neck and I could never get a close shave. The Remington did the same. The Remington foil shaver did not give a very close shave and I was always replacing the foil and blades every 3 months after getting bit by the blade when a hole would wear in the foil. I have had my Braun for 3 months and I love it. You have to learn that with a foil razer you do not push hard on your face with it. It takes a little longer to shave with But it does not irritate my skin. I have a pretty heavy beard and it has plenty of power to get the job done. Battery charges fast and holds it. Hopefully Braun will keep this one on the market for a long time. It is a great razer!!!!!!!! |
This shaver can shave a tough beard

| Reviewer: Kelsci, Margate, Fl. USA |
| I read the other reviews before purchase. I have had a tough beard to shave and it is getting tougher with age. The Braun 1775 gives me as close to a razor blade shave as one could get with an electric shaver. The unit is ergonomically hand held. The motor and torque of the blades for a rechargeable unit is equal if not better to many cord driven models. The pop up trimmer is great for me. It trims my hairs on the exterior of my ears with relative ease. If by chance I did not get a chance to shave for a few days, I can go over my beard with the trimmer to trim it down to a shaveable level. Using a preshave lotion may or may not be necessary with this shaver depending on the individual. This is the best shaver I have ever used in comparison to older Norelco triple headers or Remington microscreens. |

| I read so many reviews for shavers...from Norelcos and Remingtons to Brauns. I wanted a razor that you could wash and had none of those bells and whistles that you really don't need like a self cleaning unit....and of course a razor that would shave close and not irritate your skin. Then I read all the Amazon reviews on the 1775 Free Control and decided to give it a try. I gotta tell ya, it is the BEST shaver I've ever had and this is the best part...the cheapest! It was 42.00 at Best Buy. It is compact, washable and shaves really close and you can hardly feel it on your skin...its the smoothest shave. My last razor was a Remington TCT that cost over 100 bucks, the trimmer button broke soon after I bought (so I had to hold it down with my thumb when I didn't want to use it) and I didn't realize how bad the shave was till I bought this Braun 1775. Finally, don't buy a Norelco because the trimmers on them are flimsy .Buy the Braun 1775, you won't regret it. |

| I spent decades cutting myself with blades and throwing a mountain of plastic into the landfill, but this device changed all that. It takes a bit of time to master the use of an electric shaver but once you learn how to use it, this machine will give you a close shave and some very fast body hair trimming -- all without any cuts and bruises. Best of all, you only need to replace the head once every 18 months -- which is better for the environment, not to mention your pocket book. |

| Is it as good as a blade? NO. But, is it better than any other electric razor I have ever had? YES. Good for those times when you can't or won't operate a real razor. Just don't kiss your girl 4 hours later. Battery charger works well. It hold a charge for a long time with a number of shaves per charge. Great travelling razor for when you are in the middle of the desert with no electricity or water. Good razor - Good value. |

| Have you ever used a battery-only operated shaver? Inevitably the day will come when you are in a hurry and your shaver will not work because the battery is discharged. This has happened to me more than once. Hence, I prefer a shaver that operates in either battery OR corded mode. In the mid-twenty to upper thirty dollar range, the Braun 1775 FreeControl shaver is the only one I have found that meets my criteria. This shaver fits comfortably in my hand and provides a close shave. I have tried the expensive shavers and long ago discontinued purchasing them because the low-priced shavers are equally effective. In summation, I highly recommend purchasing the Braun 1775 FreeControl because it provides a close shave, the price (upper thirties) is reasonable, and it has the important capability to operate either by battery OR corded if the battery is discharged; there is never a concern of being unable to shave. |

| I recently replaced my old Norelco with the Braun 1775. It is a terrific shaver: shaves at least twice as close as the Norelco (close to a blade shave, in fact), can be cleaned under the faucet, and holds a charge for close to a week. If it dies while shaving, plugging it in brings it right back (the Noreleco was good for three days max, and when it died had to be recharged to use again). At this price it's a steal. |

| I love my Mach3 and still continue to use it. I bought this for those times I just wanted a quick clean up between shaves and it works great. Don't get me wrong, it does a very nice job even if you were to use it as your only shaver, but nothing shaves as close as a blade at any price. This is a great shaver, rechargeable, water resistant, and a quality build that you feel. Worth every penny and than some. |

| I just purchased this shaver after using norelco brand models for years. I, like many others, can't use wet shavers due to constant skin irritation and razor burn. This is easily the best shaver I have ever used, and the price is unbeatable. Sure, it doesn't shave as close (and that's to be expected) but you can shave as many times per day as you'd like to, thanks to the long lasting battery, and easy clean-up. The replacement blade is also easy to find on the Braun website, and affordable as well. If you're looking for a quality shaver, and don't have 200 bucks to piss away - look no further. |

| I have a moderately thick beard and fairly sensitive skin as well. Consequently, I never used a regular razor against the grain. This also meant that I had to deal with unclose shaves. With the FreeControl I can shave against the grain for a closer shave but with far less irritation. Its also very convienient in the mornings. For its price, this shaver is great. |

| I agree with the previous good reviews of the Braun 1775 shaver. I bought mine to see if it would give a good pubic shave -- it does. Just go easy for the first couple of weeks and then it works beautifully. I also find it good for shaving my face although I have used a Norelco rotary for over 30 years. The Braun is also much easier to clean than the awkward Norelco. So now every morning I shave both "downstairs" and "upstairs" with my wonderful new Braun 1775. |

| I recently purchased this Braun Electric Shaver from Amazon. Through the last fifty years, I have owned many electric shavers. Without hesitation, I declare this shaver to be the finest I have owned. Without much effort, it provides a shave as good as obtained using a blade. It is well designed, attractive, and functional (without needless frills and adjustments). I have never taken the time to rate any shaver; this is worthy of my time and effort. The operating time per charge is longer than rated by Braun. I enjoy a week of shaves per charge. |

| I have used the basic Remington electric shavers since I was a teenager. They always did an adequate job, but they were not so good at getting the hairs on the neck and they always left stubble on the chin. Not so with this razor. Its smaller shaving head makes it easier to reach these areas and the shave is, I think, overall closer than the standard Remington. |

| This is the first electric shaver that I've bought in about 30 years. Always used a manual razor. After a week of use (giving time for my beard to adjust) and using electro shave, I was surprised how close it shaved, as good as a straight edge. It is also very easy to clean and it holds a charge for a couple of weeks. The only fall back that I found, after I bought it, was if you need to replace the foil/cutter they cost as much as the shaver $30.00. But all-in-all for the price it's a good deal and I'm very happy with it. |

| I was somewhat concerned about whether or not a shaver this inexpensive would be worth the effort to order, even though I had noted some positive feedback - but the temptation was too great. Boy and I glad that I did. Why would anyone want to spend hundreds of dollars when this fine machine is available for a fraction of the cost? Does everything well that I need and it seems to stay charged for at least 2-3 weeks. I would not have been disappointed if I'd paid 2-3X the price - GREAT product for the price! |

The braun 1775 for $30 on sale is an excellent value. It may not be as fancy as the ones Braun sells for $100+, but it does work well. I'd say this is similar to the 4500 series.
On shaving, I've used it 3 times and I'd say it is as good as the 4500.
Positive: Single charge in 5 minutes is an improvement. Washable in sink.
Negative: Pretty loud, no travel case, replacement blades are expensive $25, Charger is larger than previous.

| I have always used mid line shavers and usually had pretty good results. My Remington was worn out and it was basically as cost effective to replace the unit as it is was to buy new heads and foils for it. I looked around for a bit and decided to try this Braun. I have to say I am very impressed with the unit. It works much better than any other mid range unit I have tried in the past and it is 1/2 the price of some of them. It completely blows the Remington MS2 I used out of the water. I tried it out of the box on 2 days growth and it breezed through it. With my Remington that would have been a painful chore. All in all I rate this an excellent deal. |

Great price on a good shaver. This replaced my other Braun shaver that was several years old. I had gotten many years of service from the old one.
I like the guard that protects the screen and on/off button. I travel a lot and have had my old one get turned on in travel and be dead when I arrive. It won't happen with this one due to the design on the guard. |

I have used a variety of electric shavers for more than 30 years; different brands at various cost.
I decided to try this "low price" shaver after reading that Consumer Reports gave this electric shaver a high rating.
After 3 months daily use, I very much concur. It is small, light weight, and has a two week battery that charges quickly.
Buy it at $30. No need to spend more, you won't get more for your money. |

| I purchased this shaver about one year ago, so I have alot of experience with it. I think it is a terrific value. The best thing about it is how long the battery charge lasts. Since I don't shave on weekends and always start the week with a blade shave, one charge can last one month. The shave is very close. In most areas, it is pretty close to a blade but cant compete on the neck areas. After a year, the shave is still great and the charge lasts as long. The charge also lasts long in the cold, since I left it in my car to shave on the way to work for a month. No real downsides at all. You're supposed to change the foil and blade at 18 months but I will see how long I can go. |

I love it. Its strengths are compactness, easy use, decent price and fast shave.
The only negatives are it sometimes misses a few hairs, so I must look carefully to be sure there are no "wild hairs." Also, it seems to work best if you always use it daily. But it's so easy to use, that it seems fast to use daily, even for us old geezers who are retired and don't need to shave daily. |

This razor is amazing. It is very simple and very neat.
As all other razors I have tried so far, it does cause some skin irritation at first, but it was not that significant. As all other razors as well, it is difficult to shave that hair along the neck. But I have not seen a razor that does well on that area so far.
Pros:
Washable with water
Simple and neat design
Charge lasts for about 10-15 days
You can shave with it on the charger
cons:
Neck area difficult to shave
some irritation during the first week.
Over all: I would buy it again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a descent shaver.

I like this shaver. It is inexpensive, but has a quality feel. In addition, it does what it is supposed to do--shave your face. It is small enough to get into those tight spaces on my face. And it does not create shaver burn--a problem I have had with other shavers.
My only minor complaint is that the top is hard to pull off. You need to use a little force. Too much force and the top with the foil ends up on the floor. But I am use to this quirky feature and I don't consider it significant.

| This is the best electric shaver I have ever used! My girlfriend can't tell the differince between a shave from a 4 blade manual razor and this shaver. I can, but barely. I was used to this shaver after only one use. After using the 3 spinning blade electric shavers, I found the foil shaver to deliver the closest electric shave I ever had. It is incrediabley easy to clean unlike other shavers, very cheap for the quality, you can plug it in when you run out of power and keep shaving. It also makes a lot less noise than most shavers do and is much lighter and smaller! It even gets those elusive kneck hairs and it is very fast at getting the job done. As to comfort, I can't even feel the hair being cut, it's like a warm magic wand. Read the manual before using because foil shavers are quite differint. |

| The foil on my old shaver broke and so I decided to do some research for a new one. If you are looking for something fairly inexpensive and quality, go for the Braun 1775. It is great for those times when you are in a hurry or on the go and need a quick shave. The styling is sleek and it comes with a plastic case that fits over the foil so it doesn't get dented/damaged when you travel. It's also easy to clean, as the shaver blades swivel and the brush included fits in between the blades. Recommended. |

The model 1775 FreeControl razor is GRREEATT!! It charges quickly and holds well for 3 days. The cutter & screen are comfortable on the face, and the push-up trimmer is conveniently extended past the shaver head, rather than jutting awkwardly outward. And the trimmer does its work without irritation. There is a brush for cleaning, but a dash under warm water is the easy way out. And don't worry about forgetting a voltage setting or taking a converter on a trip. Just have an adapter for whatever plug configuration may be in whatever country you happen to be. Also provided is a tube of light oil for occasional use on the screen.
An overall excellent choice for an electric razor. |

Braun 1775 FreeControl Rechargeable, Washable Men's Shaver
I've waited a couple of weeks since receiving the Braun to get used to shaving with an electric. I shave my face and my head.
When I began shaving my head in 1975, I tried all of the popular razors on the market at that time, including Remington and Norelco. None could give the close shave on my face or head that I was seeking, so I continued to use Gillette products until the price and reviews of this item caught my eye.
The last thing I wanted was an expensive razor to throw in a drawer.
Most impressive to me, and contrary to other reviews here, the battery lasted for about two weeks of shaving! Since the instructions said to run it until the battery was completely drained, I did just that and have it charging at the moment.
The shave is almost as close as a blade, and I feel confident that I can put away my safety razors for most daily shaving.
The time required is greater than required for blade shaving, but the advantage is that you are lather free and can watch TV or shave while doing some computer work.
Directions on cleaning the unit could have a better layout and written explanation on removing the foil and cutter block. The page with the numbered parts is not next to the cleaning instructions. Nit picking. Washing the unit and taking it apart to dry are easier and cleaner than brushing.
For price, shaving results and battery life, I am rating this 5 Star. |

| I got this for my fiance for a present about a year ago and he loves it. He used to have a triple head shaver but likes this one better. After a year of DAILY use however, he thinks he's going to need a new blade. It's CHEAP and gets the job DONE. It's washable so it's easy to clean to... Go on BUY IT!!! |
Better than my $130.00 Norelco

| My Norelco could be used in the shower, put shaving cream on my face with a touch of a button and cost a lot. It also took twice as long to shave than with a blade. New heads cost $40.00 and had to be replaced a least yearly. The shaving cream cost a lot. The battery ran down after about four uses and the heads had to be completely taken apart to do a decent cleaning after about four uses. It did shave quite close and was comfortable after using it for about a week. My new $25.00 Braun is easy to clean, easier to handle, extremely comfortable to use and has a very long run time before recharge. It can as others mentioned be used while charging. It shaves as close as a blade (much closer than the Norelco) and though a bit noisy with the trimmer extended, who cares. Thanks Braun for an affordable razor that is amazing. (Just like thier great coffee makers). |

| I had several Braun shavers but this seems to be the best. I bought it as a back-up because the previous one (also Braun and more expensive) broke down and being still under warranty I had to send it for repairs. I ended using only this one lately because it is easy to use, ergonomic designed and battery last more than many others. I am very happy with it. |

This razor shaves smooth and doesn't grab. I tried a Norelco rotary before this and it seemed to tear the hairs out, this Braun is very comfortable with no burn or irritation.
The built in trimmer is nice and wide and easy to deploy with one hand.
Battery life is awesome. I only need to charge about once a month and recharge only takes about an hour.
This is better than Norelcos and Remingtons I've tried that cost 2-3 times as much. |

| Why did I wait so long to replace my trusty Remington? The Braun has a great feel while using it, and does a terrific job, definitely a high-quality product. I'm still getting used to the trimmer; I have a beard and moustache, and the shape of the shaver is different from my previous one. I only looked at one shaver (trimmer a necessity), and feel that any more time looking would have been wasted. |

| I had serious doubts about switching to electric but I figured, what the heck - its under $40 and people seem to like it. Overall, its an awesome product. One thing I'll say is that it took me at least two months to get used to. Also, if you have a tiny washbin get ready to clean up afterward (tiny cut hairs). But in terms of closeness and convenience, you can't go wrong with this thing. Recommended |

At least for me. I bought one initially and later I bought a second one to keep at my work place. I cannot say any complain about this shaver, I just love it. The only particularity is that if a hair is grown over 2 millimeters you must trim it first.
I hate to shave, I wish I could somehow laser remove my beard, but in the mean time, this is the shaver to go with. I love it. |

Note: The Braun 1775 is the same product as the Braun Series-1 190. I ordered the 1775 but got the 190 from the seller. Either way this is an excellent product.
I replaced my corded Remington DA-57 twin foil razor because the trimmer was coming apart and also because I could no longer buy replacement foils locally.
The 1775/190 is a worthy successor. Not especially a "better" shave but equal in quality. It is a bit quieter. I am liking the single cutter design very well and it is easier to adjust to various locations and directions of hair growth.
Years ago I tried cordless and found that pretty soon I could not get a single shave from one charge. I am hoping this unit will not reach that level too soon, but fortunately, this shaver will run when plugged in and they ship a nice coiled cord.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Too bad it is discontinued. Braun would be wise to always offer a modestly priced, basic, corded razor. We are not all free range shavers! |

| One nice thing about being older is reviewing from years of experience. This shaver works well! I've used all brands and all types over the years. First electric I've been impressed by, and the price. Closest shave? NO. Blades are closer but with all those blades packed together, up to six now, one swipe on my face and it takes a lot of rinsing to get the whiskers cleaned out. I don't like to spend that much time in front of the mirror. And I never nick myself with a shaver. Shavers are like underwear, can't try 'em on and if you don't like 'em, can't take 'em back. Only underwear is cheap so you can try then buy more, shavers, usually not cheap. Mine works well. One thing it does is pick up whiskers from a two day shave without using the trimmer to pick up the stragglers. I'll cut short the rant. I like this shaver and I would buy it again. |

| Got this for so little that I had to try it. I had been using the same electric razor for way too long and needed a new one - and this has done amazingly well for having paid so little for it. Gives me a good, close shave - and the battery lasts quite while in between charges. I'm thoroughly impressed and, as of yet, have no complaints. |

It's okay. I like the design of it. It doesn't seem much better than my other shaver though. But I've only used my other one and this one. I was expecting this one to be a lot better as it is rated second to best of all shavers. However, my old one must have been 3rd to best. My old one was a panasonic. I've used it for 7 years and thought I'd just try another one and see if shavers do any better than the one I already had, but this one seemed the same, so I really can't say anything good or bad.
--One year later--
Okay, I've now had the shaver for a year. I tried one other razer. I got a new one because this one doesn't seem to get long hairs very well. I don't mean really long ones, I just mean like 1 cm long hairs. So the new one I got will get them, but not as close as this one. So now I use them both. It seems to work great to use both my shavers together. One to shorten all the hairs, then this one to drill them down to nothing. This one seems a lot more powerful and charges tons faster. It also lasts longer. I can charge this one in one hour. The other takes 8 hours. The other is a Norelco (however you spell it) with the circular blades. Anyway, I do like this Braun a lot for getting a really close shave. |

| This is the finest electric shaver I've ever owned. It gives a close shave (I figure it's almost as close as a Gillette blade). Note that you use it on a dry face (you shave before you wash your face) and have to keep the shaver perpendicular to your skin, but following those directions I got an excellent shave on my coarse beard. It doesn't do well on a multi-day growth--it's tuned for the best shave on a 1-day growth, or eliminating a five-o'clock-shadow. Lasts a long time on a charge, fits the hand well, looks and feels like a quality product--as you would expect from Braun. I would buy this item again, and recommend it without hesitation. |

...and this was the little buddy that saved it. You'll never get closer than a blade, but this does give you a very close shave, quickly. The only places I may need a touch-up are in the sideburns area(it has a sideburns/moustache clipper) and the neck. That takes what...3 seconds?
You can't beat the price. I've been using it 3 months now and it has nearly
paid for itself in the cost of throwaways. It charges quickly, too.

Works great. It only takes one or two strokes, whereas my old shaver, a $20 Remington took at least five strokes to get a close shave. If you're looking for an inexpensive shaver that is simple and effective, then this is it.
only thing was it took a while to ship, about 2 and a half weeks. |

I have this shaver for about a week. My previous shavers were all Norelco. I got tired of paying for batteries for Norelcos with all the associated hassle (and expense) involved in mailing them back and forth for battery replacement. This Braun costs roughly the same as one battery replacement for Norelco, so what's the heck?
I have stiff beard and don't shave often - every 2-3 days or so. To summarize: the shaver works superbly: very fast and exceptionally close shave. And despite my tough and long beard, I still have not drained battery after several shaves.
The only two areas where my Norelco is competitive is the speed of shave - it seem to go through my beard hair somewhat faster - with Braun you have to go over an area a couple of times until it gets to the skin and the ability to pick up leftover long hair. With rotating heads, I seem to be able to get the "leftovers" faster.
In any event, these are two relatively minor points. I declare Braun 1775 a hands on winner.
This paragraph was added after several months of use. No problems with the close shave - it's superb in that department. However two important problems have surfaced:
1. cutting longer beard is a chore. So in the end I got a cheap 3-cutters Norelco to use when my beard is too long for the Braun.
2. Due to the design - vibration and the cut hair being immediately behind the screen, a lot of that hair falls out as you shave, so you better shave over something to avoid the continuous "spillover". |
Nice close shave

| The product was originally back-ordered, and finally arrived after a few weeks. This is a very nice shaver, lightweight, feels good, and has a close shave. You know its working from the sounds of whiskers being cut, and the single screen has the flexibility of working around my face. I just rinse it off with hot water after a couple of days, and use the Remington Shaver Saver spray to lubricate it once a week. Its been working great, and it holds a charge for weeks. I had a Remington double screen model which is slightly heavier than the Braun 1775, but the cost of replacement screen and blade is almost the same as a new shaver! Thus, I bought this since it received many positive ratings. Thanks everyone for sharing this gem of a product. |

As electric razors go, this is the best one I have ever used. It still does not come close to that of a blade, though. Given the price of blades, and that I can only use a blade 2 or 3 times before I have to throw it out, it is going to save me a TON of money.
Good enough for day to day use. Use a blade for special occations. |

This is a great razor, especially for the price (I paid $36 from Amazon). It charges as quickly as advertised, it shaves very close, and it's easy to clean. I would have liked a carrying pouch, but this is a minor inconvenience, especially considering the price.
My only caution is make sure a foil razor is right for you. In order for it to work, you have to hold it perpendicular to your face and move opposite of the direction your facial hair. Seems simple enough, unless you're like me and have facial hair (especially on the neck) that goes every which way. I have to go over some spots in different directions multiple times to get a close shave, which causes extra aggitation. If you have this problem, a rotary blade razor may be a better bet.
That being said, its still a great bargain and get the job done, even on tough beards. |

I have been using electric razors, on and off, for 20 years, I have used cheap ones and expensive ones, and this so far is the best. And to top it off, it's one of the most inexpensive!
Battery life is great! I charge it once every 2 months. There was no transition time for me. I've been using it for about 6 months now and no razor burn what so ever! It is super easy to clean, just stick it under the faucet and shake. No fuss no muss!

Has a very comfortable grip and covers the face quickly. The rinse and clean under water saves alot of time and it charges up very fast. Thanks to Amazon.com for a very good product at a very reasonable price and very fast ship. This probably shaves as good if not better than the more expensive razors. I want to start by saying electric shaver and razors are two different animals.
This is a great shaver, not razor smooth but it does get pretty darn close. The trimmer is good and is adjustable if you need beard or mustache trims.
I had a Remington that did a good job but I heard alot about Braun, thought I would try it and so far it is doing a great job for me.
Just remember, if you use a razor it takes 30 days for your face to get used to an electric.
For the money, this one is solid, and shaves close.
Good luck |

No need to press hard to get those wiskers, they just melt away, or at least that's how it feels. This feels better then the twin foils and as far as I'm concerned gives a better shave all around. If you guessed I'm happy your right! I even got a second one just because I love it. |

| Despite the fact that I have not owned many electric razors, I definitely like this one. Other razors have given me rashes and burns but this one sure does the job quickly and efficiently without leaving a painful sensation. The razor rinses quickly under water and the texture of the razor itself allows it to dry very quickly. The micro-thin blade glides on the skin and its rotating head adapts to the different shapes of the face easily. Best of all it is one of the cheapest out there if you compare the brand, the features and the resulting shave! Furthermore it charges in 1 hour and lasts at least a week if shaving once a day. I would definitely recommend buying this razor and not getting the higher-end models since the difference in features and shaving quality is minimal. |

| My new Braun 1775 razor is as good as Consumer Reports claimed. At 70 years old, I hadn't used an electric razor since I was 25. Now,50 years later, no more gung down the sink and I am still getting a very acceptable shave each morning. Thanks Braun! |

| The first time I have tried a non-rotary blade electric shaver. The results were very impressive, and this particular model was well worth the cost. |

| Truly pleased with this product. Have not used an electric razor in 40 years. Rotator cuff surgery prompted this purchase. Would recommend to anyone, just may keep on using it after shoulder is healed. |

| I sport the bald look but hate blade shaving every day. I bought a Braun on the cheap and ended up with a good shaver for half the price of the Department Stores. Shaves close like a blade, and saves my skin when I have to be real close and real sharp during the week. |

| Got the shaver in just a few days. I've shaved with norelcos for years and thought I would try a new brand. This little shaver is unbelievable. It shaves much better then the norelco and faster also. I would recommend this shaver to anybody, men and women. |

| I've used Braun foil shavers since 1988. This is my third. The previous shavers were over $100, but each provided multiple years of use. I've had the 1775 for nearly 3 months and really like it. The closeness of the shave is comparable to the other Braun foil shavers I've used. I have a medium beard and shave daily. The battery life on this shaver is far better than on the previous shavers. For the first 3 months I've only had to charge it twice. |

| Doc put me on blood thinner. She said, for safety's sake I should consider a bladeless shaver,so I purchased the Braun 1775. I have found it easy to use, fast, and efficient. While not shaving as close as a blade, it does come close. I had no trouble acclimating to it and find it a real nice shaver to own. |

| For the price, an excellent shaver. Length of charge is excellent. Trimmer very good. I estimate it shaves as well as my triple blade by about 95-98%. Washes clean as ad says. Just to test it, I grew a seven day beard, used the trimmer to cut it down then put the shaving head to the test. Passed! Can't beat it. |

| I can't understand why anyone would buy any other electric shaver. This one is well-made and does a great job on my heavy beard. The price was amazingly low but the performance is amazingly high. Great product, thanks Braun for another wonderful product. |

| This is the second one we are buying. I bought the first one based on the reviews and the fact it is a single head. My disabled husband relies on me to buy razors. We have gone through many and more expensive razors, but he says this one gives him the best shave. He likes being able to hear the cutters work and it really does give a close shave. Also, he no longer gets razor burn on his neck as with other razors. He just wants a second one so he doesn't have to consider buying a razor for a while! I like it because it is so easy to clean. Great value! |

| This is my second Braun shaver, the first one was a much older model from the mid 70's. I like the closeness of the shave and the washable feature.I still brush off the cutter block after each shave, you should do this to minimize buildup on the block.Simple to do and fast, after rinsing under the faucet just remove the screen and the cutter block then use the included brush on the cutter block. Let it air dry. About once a month i use a spray lubricator on the screen and cutter block. Another nice feature is the ability to use the shaver with the cord if the battery drains while you are shaving, charging takes less then an hour and you can use it for a whole week. Contrary to the literature that comes with the shaver the green light does not blink when it is fully charge.I read some other reviews and is a common occurrence.Maybe a misprint.Great Braun shaver and inexpensive. |

| This is the answer for all the people fed up with Excel's prices and disposables' inadequacy. The Braun - bought on the strength of a review here - is unbelievably comfortable and close, just like a double- or triple-blade. It cleans up under the hot water faucet, takes minimum maintenance, and recharges easily. Though it quits abruptly when its charge runs out (about every ten days or so for me), you can plug it in and finish your shave while it recharges. I've tried the other electrics and never found what the Braun does. Try it, buy it, you''ll love it! |

| My old Remington T350 (?) died quite some time ago and had been looking for this one in the stores without success. Then went into CVS for blades and found it! A real close shave I was very surprised. Even was able to get close on the usually hard to shave neck. A wonderful shaver! |

| My shaving needs are very modest as I have a beard and so only needed something for my neck and upper cheek area. This shaver fits the bill perfectly. The mobile head is really nice, no nicks or cuts or sore skin. I often go for days without shaving and have found the flip-out trimmer perfect for cutting down the growth to a length the shaver can handle. Very good price too. No more razors for me. |
