Don’t Miss The Opportunity To Collect E-Mails And Or Addresses

March 18, 2009 By: YogaKat Category: Networking

We are in the business of relationship building. How can you develop a relationship with anyone if you don’t send, speak, write or communicate with them frequently? The easiest way to start to do that is to collect e-mails addresses, physical mailing addresses and or phone numbers. Today everyone is afraid of spam, and to be blasted by offers in their e-mail or at their home or office. They are already conditioned to dismiss an uninvited person as a pest or nuisance.

You have to get past their guard. One of the ways to do that is to make it feel harmless. Would you like to receive a copy of my Free newsletter or catalogue of the many unique products we offer? No obligation to buy. They may give you the mailing address or the PO Box address. Send them what you told them you would.

If you see them on a daily or weekly basis, you could have a sign up sheet, where you get their phone
numbers and or e-mails addresses in case of an emergency. Again use their information for just that. If you need to cancel a class or session, call or e-mail them. That is building a trusting relationship with them.

When you e-mail them make sure in the subject line it says your name and re: schedule change or cancellation of meeting. They would be sure to open it. Same if you call. Hi so and so this is Michelle, I’m calling to tell you about a cancellation. Sorry about that can you make it at this new time?

Another way to get the clients e-mail or physical address is to ask. Would you like to receive updates from me from time to time? I’m planning a newsletter would you like to be updated when that occurs? Then you have permission to send them updates of what you are doing. A new product comes out, or you wrote a book. Let your clients know about it. That is a legitimate reason to contact them.

Another reason that they would like to give out the e-mail address or physical address is a contest or raffle of some sort. We are giving away an hour coaching session please fill out your contact information.

Still another way to ensure that they may want to give their e-mail address is to give something away for free. No strings attached. You gave your e-mail address, and I’m going to reward you with a free downloadable report. Yours to keep.

Once you have the e-mails or physical addresses don’t abuse it. Let them know that you will be sending them information of importance to them. Don’t send them all sorts of offers. If they want to leave your list take them off immediately. Make it easy for them to get off. Send something to them at least once per month. But whenever possible keep collecting those addresses. Your list is vital to building your business.

Working with Effective Online Business Network Hubs to Grow Your Business!

March 18, 2009 By: ajptaurus Category: Networking

Finding an “effective” online business network strategy that you can fully trust and rely on to bring you real, profitable leads and business referrals is rather hard to come by online.

While there are many free network hubs online that you can easily join, you have to first look at their effectiveness. Some of the things I believe they need to be effective are:

1. An easy way to spread your business and brand throughout the network via an intuitive interface that pushes your business and what you do, out through the network automatically.

2. Extremely good training as part of the service, so you know without a shadow of a doubt that the steps you follow are going to be successful for you, because their built on proven strategies from real experts in business who have “done it” before.

3. A way to connect with other members in “real life” if you wish, you see there’s a tonne of online business network hubs about, but hardly any have a local chapter, or member you can connect with live. And live one-on-one connection is the key to bringing in business for your company or business.

4. Engulfing of all other online business network hubs, business networks, and marketing methods, so that it compliments the other businesses, rather than is seen as a competitor and when you apply for membership, you’re restricted in your access due to membership in other business networks.

5. Access to referral partners, that are highly qualified in their chosen area, who have been accepted as members because of their expertise, not just because their out there trying to flog their services / products to everyone. This is extremely important when running a “high quality” online business network operation, as trust and effectiveness is the key.

So as you can see, some of the most important feedback I’ve had from people in certain online business networks and local hubs is that the members are being “sold to” too much and feeling pressured by their clubs, or their club has too many “restrictions” or “rigid rules”, and finally that they simply aren’t getting the results from their investment. Which of course means they aren’t making and investment in their business but rather, discovering their network membership is a “liability” instead.

I don’t want this for you and your business, but just saying it isn’t enough. You need to fully research and explore your network hub before joining, read testimonials of real results, if they can’t give you any, think long and hard before you invest any money.

The same goes for so called free online business network hubs, if their free, but you get no results, it’s a liability in eating up your time and effort in building your business network. And because there’s already so many other activities all competing for your time, you only want to invest your time into the ones that return you the best value.

I hope this helps you to “open your eyes” so that you can grow your business and learn the art of attraction marketing online.

Secrets to Improving Your Network Marketing Strategy!

March 18, 2009 By: ajptaurus Category: Networking

The bottom line in Network Marketing is all about gaining successful outcomes in a network marketing business that you create for yourself. That means working in your own choice of time, space and methods that you feel comfortable with. Most people don’t actually like their day jobs at all, but they do want to earn great incomes if possible, and despite that dislike they have will often stay with that job for years. Having a job you love, and creating that great income too, is entirely possible within the realm of Network Marketing, provided you have a strong network marketing strategy in place. Thoughtful and focused effort!

Average people like you and I are bringing in large incomes through the right network marketing strategy, and are leading their dream lives by working from their home or own office in their own space and time, and spending as much time with their family as they want to. This can be made to happen only through proper network marketing strategy. Thoughtful and focused effort!

In this amazing technological era we now live in, people and events are easily connected through the capabilities of the internet. You can be living in one country and working happily for a company in another, and managing your entire team which may be spread over three continents. The scope of network marketing today is this world-wide global scene! All you need to manage the whole scene is through developing a great network marketing strategy. This strategy needs to fit the needs of your entire global team and product guidelines. Thoughtful and focused effort!

Most network marketing companies and their distributors teach and support their people well. This has become easier than ever before through the use of the Internet. As a new era network marketer, one must fully employ the potential that technology offers, by achieving more in less time and by communicating to the downline more efficiently. In this way you can take your network marketing strategy to greater heights, and far greater success levels.

Network marketing has become all the more efficient these days with companies dealing more and more in products and services that the average people use. Simply by making a strong downline of success-hungry people, you can relax and see your global network marketing business developing. All you need to put in is, a sharp network marketing strategy. Yes, you need to develop a strategy which fills those needs spoken about above, and to stay completely focused on achieving them!

What some network marketing companies say about getting rich quickly isn’t all hype and rubbish. It’s entirely possible to start earning serious money in a short period of time. These days, distributors don’t have to dedicate much time to a single sale, but can be much more efficient if focused on developing a strong downline through using tactics and strategies which are based on integrity and smart systems. Test and measure; test and measure; and then test and measure again!

Without any doubt, you will have to work hard at getting established, and in getting used to developing posistive habits which work for you and your team. At least at the start, just as in any other business, you will need to put that extra effort into getting off the ground by developing a sound Network Marketing Strategy, and sticking with it as you develop its effectiveness through the process of testing and measuring results as you go.

Why Are 08xx Numbers So Expensive to Call From Abroad?

March 18, 2009 By: OzoneConferencing Category: Networking

Many cheap and free audio conference call services use access numbers beginning with 08xx. The more common are 0871, 0870, 0844 and 0845 numbers. These number ranges are known as non-geographic or ‘NGN’ numbers. Whilst these are accessible from most landlines and mobile networks in the UK, there is no guarantee that you will be able to connect to them from overseas. There are a number of reasons for this, which are documented in this article.

NGNs and telecoms interconnect agreements
International telephone carriers such as British Telecom in the UK, AT and T in the US, Telefonica in Spain, and Deutsche Telekom in Germany sign up to agreements as to what type of traffic they will pass between each other. These are complex commercial and technical contracts called telecoms interconnect agreements.

All telecoms interconnect agreements include interconnection between ‘normal’ geographical numbers in the respective countries. For instance, you will definitely be able to call, say, a London number beginning with 0207 from any country in the world. It would not make economic sense for calls to London not to be supported.

In reality calls to all numbers beginning with 01 and 02 are supported as these cover almost all the standard phone numbers in the UK.However, calls to 08xx numbers are often NOT included in these agreements. Even when they are, the prices charged to connect are often outrageously high.

In Summary: There is no guarantee you will be able to connect to an 0871, 0870, 0844 or 0845 number from abroad and even if you can, you are likely to be charged an extortionate fee for the privilege.

The overseas NGN connection rip-off
One of the main reasons why overseas telephone operators do not like to connect to NGNs is the revenue sharing model around which they are based. When you call an NGN, your telephone company charges you and then passes on a percentage of what they make on the call to the owner (or renter) of the NGN in commission. The amount of commission varies considerably by number range from a few pennies a minute on the 0871 numbers down to a few fractions of a penny (or even nothing at all) on the 0845 numbers.

This mechanism works well within the UK since all the UK operators work within UK law and are able to pass commission payments around easily. The sums involved are often very small and hence it would be difficult to do this economically when you have overseas transactions or currency exchange to consider.

This cost and complexity when dealing with NGNs lead many overseas telecoms operators to not bother providing connections to UK NGNs. Those that do often charge very high rates for the calls to cover the extra costs and risks involved.

In Summary: Overseas operators often charge rip-off rates to connect to NGNs in the UK or simply don’t connect your call.

What are the implications for audio conferencing?
If you are using an audio conference provider which requires overseas participants to call a non-geographic number in the UK, i.e. 0871, 0870, 0844 or 0845 there is no guarantee that their connection will work and no way of telling how much it will cost without first checking with the telephone company in the country you are calling from.

Please note, it makes no difference which conference call provider you use. If they issue you with an 08xx access number, you will run into the issues above. If you need reliable overseas access then you must use a service offering which provides local and freephone access to overseas participants via our global virtual private network (VPN). A VPN can be thought of as a private telephone network for the use of our customers only.

You Can Be An Effective Networker

March 18, 2009 By: ajptaurus Category: Networking

The most often misguided perception of networking is you need to be outgoing and a real talker, to be good at networking and meeting potential referral partners. However this isn’t the case, because normally the person who is shy (yet very good at what they do) are often the ones who benefit the most from referral marketing and are normally not in sales or outgoing work.

You’d be very surprised at how many people are actually introverted and yet developed a system to depend on direct sales between them and others. Yet the way the sale is initiated isn’t by the introvert going out and doing sales calls, but rather on meaningful relationships, key strategic partners and good communication.

If you’re shy, I urge you to please don’t take yourself out of the networking picture, because you’re not good at making conversation. Normally it’s this kind of person who excels at the networking part which is more important in relationship building anyway.

Business networking face-to-face is a two part process, and it involves meeting, introducing, talking and listening about you and the other party. What happens if you’re shy is you tend to be quite and therefore if you meet a more outgoing counterpart, it will be tremendously easy for you to listen to them as they love expanding about themselves. All along you can be taking notes and ask more questions to draw them out.

You see, in a low-pressure and even stealth sales environment the introvert excels, because they can quietly sneak up and gain the inside information that the extroverted personality so readily gives out to everyone. This then arms the shy person with all the ammunition they need to help “solve a problem” for them, while they haven’t really drawn the quiet person out.

If you’re very intimidated about meeting people, all you need to do is quietly go up to someone where a group of people are standing around, usually an extrovert who is the centre of attention. It’s on the outskirts of these groups of conversation that you’re likely to meet other shy people and in turn you’ll feel more comfortable in discussing the ideas that the louder personalities are talking about, and it’s more natural also.

Don’t think that you only need to network at local business chambers, you can gain referrals and potential new leads by doing voluntary work, possibly attending a toastmasters meeting or rotary club (it would need to be a business themed club though).

Business networking is something you can learn to get progressively better at over time, and less shy from. If you still don’t take well to mixing business meetings, try and take advantage of a smaller, more intimate networking group, where you might only have a few others have a chat and exchange of ideas over a coffee initially. By taking the situation out of an office environment or formal surroundings it can be less intimidating also, especially when you have a good strong group leader who is sensitive to the needs of each individual in the group.

So as you do more and more mixing, even on a smaller level, you’ll learn to adapt your own special style of meeting people, even if it’s drawing them to you, rather than you going up to them. Please remember that even though you might feel extremely shy, if you smile at someone and come across as friendly, you don’t even have to talk, the louder networkers will be attracted to you and you’ll find yourself in a conversation before you know it.

7 Keys To Business Networking Growth

March 18, 2009 By: ajptaurus Category: Networking

Networking is not going away. No matter how high-tech, plugged in, or globalized the world becomes, networking will be around forever. You need networking, and you need it to work for you.

But as consumers, clients, customers, and executives all realize the power and usefulness of networking you are faced with the difficulty of discriminating how, when, why, and how much networking you should be doing.

For example, if you joined every networking web site there was, you could make a full time job of just filling out web forms. Or, if you attended every networking function in your industry, you would do nothing but eat, drink, and mingle.

So, what are you going to do. This article attempts to lay out seven keys to business networking growth.

1. Become the go-to guy for a networking question. As you begin to network, your circle of acquaintances grows. Your rolodex of numbers increases. And you start running out of room to put business cards. In time, you will build a reputation as a pretty good networker.

Now and then someone may come up to you and say, “Hey, do you happen to know a good franchise consultant?” You dig in your drawer, whip out a business card and say, “Give him a call. I met him last March. Nice guy.” Bingo. You’ve scored a point. You’ve made a connection.

And you’ve won some trust. Eventually, a few more people will come up to you and say, “Hey, I heard that you may know a good marketing firm…” And so it has begun. By and by, you will receive a certain degree of recognition as someone who is very well connected, knows a lot of people, and can point people in the right direction. But networking is a snowballing adventure.

The more people you know, the more people you can get to know. The more people that come to you with networking questions, the more people you can find out about and get to know. Make it your goal to become the networking guru in your space.

2. Seek opportunities to help others. Helping people is at the core of networking. A networking attempt is so much more than a handshake and an exchange of a name card. It is so much more than accepting a connection on LinkedIn.

The value of your network is not measured by the amount of names that you know, but by the amount of help you can provide. As you survey the networking landscape, don’t look at is as a host of names to know. Look at is as a host of people to help. After all, the only truly valuable networking will be from people whom you know personally and whom you have helped.

Once you help people, especially in a sacrificial or altruistic way, you’ve won their trust. They have a degree of confidence in you. That confidence will translate into them recommending you. That is exactly what you want. That is the way to grow your network, and that is a crucial key to business networking growth.

3. Seek opportunities for others to help you. But it works both ways. Not only should you be helping others, but others can be helping you. If you need help, ask for it.

Gaining help from others creates a human connection that can’t be gained any other way. Besides, you get to see the skills of another from a unique angle. You get to see how the person works. You get to experience their product.

And you get to establish a mutual relationship of trust. That goes miles in the networking world. People willl remember those whom they help, and it is the perfect way to build a strong, lasting network.

4. Be everywhere often. Though it sounds daunting, it is possible to carve out a significant presence for yourself. The key word here is “strategic.” As I mentioned, it is an incredible waste of time to join every networking site out there.

Though you will receive a plethora of invitations, be selective. Join only the ones that will best accomplish your purposes. It should be standard, however, to at least have a presence on LinkedIn, the current networking site leader.

Other industry-specific websites should be consulted as well. In addition, attend several strategic functions as often as you can. Again, too much is too much, but make it your practice to be at the important ones as often as possible.

5. Know people well. When you meet people, remember their names and some specifics about them. Don’t be ashamed to write names down. You need to remember them. Carry around a pen and pad of paper, and jot down notes.

Not just for names, but facts, too. When you pick up the phone to call that potential customer, it will go a long way to say, “By the way, how’s your mother-in-law? I remember you mentioned she had surgery last week.”

6. Host something. Be a networking leader and go ahead and host something. It can be as simple as a backyard barbecue for all the CFOs in your town. Or it can be as big as a golf outing for all the engineering firms.

Either way, you can quickly become a networking mogul, just by organizing events. After all, once the event is over, you have a list of everyone who signed up–complete with numbers and all.

7. Finally, make it fun. Networking can be a fulfilling hobby. After all, you’re interacting with people. People can be a lot of fun. Face the challenge of being a networking guru, but make it an enjoyable and refreshing hobby.

Simple Ways To Grow Your Business With Referral Marketing

March 18, 2009 By: ajptaurus Category: Networking

Referral marketing is a great way to maximize your business’s chances for success. This process is a great way to increase word-of-mouth about your business, and it can help your business. This form of marketing revolved around encouraging and promoting customers, business, and media contacts to talk as much about your business as is possible. Instead of allowing word of mouth to exist solely by chance, referral marketing helps motivate and expand this process so that it’s even more productive for you and your business.

How does this system work? Well, people are generally motivated to refer their friends and family members to websites, usually with some sort of incentive attached (i.e. a cash bonus, more freedom, upgrades to one’s account, etc.). When people refer others to a product, service, or website, the products are not only used more often, but its name is more widely known than before. This in turn ups a company’s visibility as well as traffic.

How are people referred to the website? Well, generally, referral marketing happens when an individual is given a link with which they can refer people. Many people email these links to friends and family members and some even post them on their websites or in their personal profiles on websites. The user receives a percentage of profits or goods for each referral that satisfies certain requirements (i.e. registering with the company, buying so many good, etc.).

The kind of referral marketing a company uses depends on its needs and resources. Some of these methods are quite simple and some are more advanced. For example, you could simply post a link to your business in a forum or email it to your friends and colleagues via email or through social networks. You can use such professional networks as LinkedIn and Jigsaw to help you with this process. You could also use websites that focus on referrals: they will help with tracking and with giving out or distributing the promised bonuses. Some companies like to place referral banners on their website and on other websites to help with referrals.

Referral marketing not only helps you maximize your profits, but it allows your clients to feel as if they are a vital piece of your organization. This results in customer loyalty and increased traffic (i.e. they will be more likely to help you when it comes to the referral process). Using referral marketing is a great way to maintain your business’s productivity. The system helps you build relationships not only with clients but with other websites (i.e. the ones who help you post your banners and links) and with other companies. Treating clients like they matter helps to bring them into the fold and helps you to keep from losing them. This in turn increases the likelihood of repeat business.

This makes your business more lucrative. You will have customers who feel as if they are a part of the family, and you will have a simple way of getting the word out about your business. Really, success is only a click away.
